One People, One Kenya Peace Initiative

A platform for peace, unity and understanding.

The One People, One Kenya Peace Initiative (OPOKPI) is a citizen-focused peace-building and civic engagement platform established to promote a culture of peace, unity, tolerance, dialogue and non-violence across Kenya.

The Initiative provides a platform for Kenyans from different backgrounds to come together, engage constructively, build understanding and promote peaceful coexistence.

We are committed to building a movement that is inclusive, non-partisan and driven by a shared love for Kenya.

Why peace matters

Peace is more than the absence of violence.

Peace is the foundation upon which communities, economies and nations develop. When peace is threatened, the consequences are felt across society—by families, young people, businesses, schools, communities and institutions.

Building peace therefore cannot be left to one institution or one group of people. Peace is everyone's responsibility.

Our approach recognizes that lasting peace is strengthened by dialogue, tolerance, respect, inclusion, justice, responsible citizenship and social cohesion.

Our commitment

Different backgrounds.
One shared future.

We may be different. We may disagree. We may come from different communities and backgrounds. But we are one people, we have one Kenya, and we share one responsibility—to protect peace.

We believe our diversity should unite us, not divide us, and that disagreements can be resolved through dialogue.
